Born from a shared passion for their country and a legendary nickname that stuck, Chilli Tours was created by a couple of Kiwi mates who believe the best travel memories come from shared experiences, not just ticking off a checklist.

From a Dream to the Road

After years of backpacking the globe, we returned home to New Zealand and saw a gap. We saw travellers stressed by logistics or stuck on generic party buses. They missed the magic of connecting with a small group and a local guide who felt like a friend.

So, Chilli Tours began. Our mission: to offer the kind of trip we'd want to take ourselves—a fun and flexible journey that helps you explore more for less, proving that some of New Zealand's most iconic adventures are priceless (and free).

Meet Hayden: Your Kiwi Mate and Guide.

Growing up in a family of outdoor enthusiasts, Hayden spent his childhood hiking and camping across New Zealand. After a gap year backpacking the world, he realised his real passion was right here at home. His mission now is to help travellers see the real New Zealand - moving away from big cities and tourist traps to show how even those on a budget can experience and enjoy the country's most iconic, natural beauty.

Chloe is an Aussie local who loves to travel. She discovered her passion through the ease and community of organised tours around the world. As our Operations Manager, Chloe stays in touch with tourism partners and is always looking for ways to improve the traveller's experience. She's not afraid to get her hands dirty and will often lead trips herself as a support guide. She loves being on the road and helping people get to their next spot with no worries.
